Someone walking by saw her and went over and sat down across from her.
"What's wrong," the person asked.
"Nothing, I'm just remembering back to when I was younger," the woman replied.
The two sat there in silence for a while, not saying a word. Watching the kids at play like the baby lion cubs at the zoo. The person that walked up and sat down was a young girl in her early 20's.
Finally the young girl spoke up and asked, "What was it like when you were younger?"
"You wouldn't be interested. You're to young," the woman said with some bitterness in her voice.
"Oh, but I would be interested. I like hearing and learning about the past," the young girl answered her rather enthusiastically.
"Can't you learn about the past by reading it any more," asked the woman.
"Oh yes, I love to read about it too. I just like to hear it from the people who lived it," the young girl explained to her.
The woman gave in to her. She couldn't resist, looking at that young girl's face eager and hungry for knowledge of the past. They sat and talked for an hour at least, before the younger girl had to go.
They set a date to meet there again. The young girl hungry for knowledge of the past and the old woman made friends fast. From that first day they meet till now, their still friends and meeting in the park. You go through there sometimes and see them talking for hours on end, still.
