One day during that summer was just the tiniest bit strange. That was the day that John Morbs arrived in Toledo. Now, he wasn't from around the area. As a matter of fact, he was from the Moon. Nobody had a clue that he was from another planet until the end of his third week here.
If I recall right, his first day here he made friends with on of our local gangs. Here's what they said when they saw him:
"Hey Dude, what chya doin' here in our area," the leader asked.
He answered, "I'm new here and I didn't know this was anyone's area."
"Well, since you're here, how would you like to join us," asked one of the members.
"Sure, if you don't really mind, " he answered.
He hung around with them for about a week before they started including him in their activities, some which included stealing items of value.
One day he asked, "What do we do with the stuff we take?"
He got no answer from them because they were all busy doing something.
Now about the second week that John was here, he realized that what they were doing wasn't right. What he did to get even with them took time for him to prepare. First he looked into them to find out what they feared most. He found out that they feared people unlike themselves most.
Towards the end of the third week, he was ready to get them back. The night he got them back it happened like this:
"Hey guys, I don't think I can make it tonight, I'm not feelin' to well," John said.
"Well, you stay home and get better for the next time," the leader said.
John said, "All right , I'll see you later then."
For the rest of the evening he was preparing for his attack.
What else happened is a little fuzzy, but I can rememberwhat happened at the end when he met the gang.
He answered as himself, not himself the human, but himself the Moon person. This sight scared them out of their wits. He had gray skin, blue eyes and was about 5 foot 1/2 inches tall. (That was tall for Moon people.)
The leader asked, "What in the world is this thing?"
"I'm John Morbs, Dude," he replied.
"Why didn't you tell us what you were earlier," asked one of the members.
"Because I wanted to scare you into turning yourselves in," John said.
The next thing I remember was them walking into the police station and turning themselves in. John left shortly after that.
I know that's one summer I will never forget. I do see John once in a while and he still talks about that summer of 1998 in Toledo, Ohio, Earth.
Note: This was written while I was in High School. I just recently found it while cleaning.
