The Old Rocking Chair

I
still love to sit on the porch
And rock in my old rocking chair.
The roof is sagging in,
And the hinges are off the door.
This old house isn't much good anymore.

But I love to sit out on the porch
And rock in the old rickety-rockety rocking chair
On the old squeaky floor.
The chair is like myself,
With time, it is worn and old,
And its time is getting short.
And it won't be long anymore
That I can sit on the porch
And rock in that old rickety-rockety chair
On the old squeaky floor.
