Don't Tell a Lie on Anyone

D
on't tell a lie on anyone,
No matter how small it may be.
For after it travels around a while
There is more to it, you see.

So don't tell a lie. For gossip travels fast,
From mouth to mouth, and door to door.
And when it gets back to you
It's a million times more.

For if each one puts a word to it,
It will grow bigger all along the way,
So hold your tongue, my friend,
And be careful what you say.
Don't believe anything you hear,
And only half of what you see.
For things are not always
Just what they seem to be.

There is moral to this little story
That I told. And I know it's true:
If you tell a lie on anyone,
It will come back to you.
