Ooo, Me me me!! (Jumping up and down waving my arms like an idiot.) Yes, I admit it I to have fallen into the email forward trap, especially when it's one of those really cute ones about friends, you know the ones I mean so I'm not going into detail about them. I tend to forward them on more because they are cute, I do try to pick who I send to though, usually to those who I'm proud to call a friend.
Wow, have I really gotten away from the point that I was trying to make, so let's try this again. Shall we?
Ok here we go.
Sure we all have friends, but how many of them are true friends? You know the one or two people you can count on to be there for you through the good and bad no matter what. No siblings don't count either, because they have to be there for you that's what family is about. Come on how many? Me I have one true friend and I married him. Yep you got it my husband. Yes you can count your significant other, besides weren't you friends to begin with anyway.?
Sure I long to have another friend someone who I can call up and say "Hey I have the day off how would you like to go meet some place for lunch, we can eat, talk and maybe window shop afterwards." I have that with my husband sure, but sometimes it's just nice to know that there is someone else out there who will be there to make you laugh, cry with you or even help your significant other pick you up when you just can't seem to help yourself up.
I believe we as humans long for some sort of familiar support system with people that we can trust no matter what. Who in your social group of friends and family can you trust enough to be a true friend?
